Joie de Vivre is a seventy foot tall bright red steel sculpture by New York sculptor Mark di Suvero, installed in Zuccotti Park, NYC. It's the first permanent sculpture by di Suvero in the city.
The Equitable Building behind it, upon its completion in 1915, was the world's largest office building. A speculative venture that provoked great controversy, it was cited by opponents of unregulated growth as an example of the evils of skyscraper construction.
Situated nearby is Red Cube, a bright red sculpture in steel by Isamu Noguchi at 140 Broadway, by Liberty and Cedar.
